FeeFriction Editorial

Consumer finance math desk (United States)

FeeFriction Editorial builds and maintains US consumer-finance calculators that make fees, APR total cost, payment schedules, and expense ratios explicit. We write worked examples with labeled assumptions so readers can reproduce the math with their own loan or account terms. Articles cite public primary sources where available and never pretend to be personalized advice. Corrections are welcome at editorial@feefriction.com — include the page URL and the figure you dispute.

How we edit calculators

Every FeeFriction tool ships with labeled inputs, printed assumptions, and a worked example on the page. When federal data sources change (rate tables, withholding factors, Social Security wage base), we update the matching calculator and bump the site-wide last-reviewed date on trust pages.

Sources frame

Credentials / sources: Independent editorial research using CFPB, Federal Reserve, IRS, SSA, DOL, and BLS public data. Not a CFA, CFP, CPA, or broker.

Editorial review focuses on transparent assumptions, labeled ranges, and clear separation between educational estimators and professional advice.
