FeeFriction

About FeeFriction

FeeFriction is an independent educational website that helps people in the United States measure financial friction: bank and transfer fees, APR and interest drag, refinance break-even months, HELOC interest, paycheck withholding estimates, and retirement expense-ratio drag.

Our goal is clarity — labeled assumptions, primary-source references where relevant, and tools that prioritize total cost over marketing language. We intentionally publish fewer, deeper pages (calculators, guides, and a small set of state context hubs) rather than hundreds of near-duplicate templates. We do not originate loans, sell refinance packages, manage investments, or provide personalized financial advice.

How we work

Each calculator exposes inputs and assumptions so you can change balance, rate, fee, or time horizon instead of trusting a locked marketing figure. Guides explain how to read results without hype. State pages add only where tax or housing friction meaningfully differs — not as a doorway farm for every ZIP code.

What we publish

Editorial standards

Content is reviewed for clear assumptions and accurate descriptions of formulas. We prohibit get-rich-quick claims, fake star ratings, and Product structured data without real reviews. See our editorial policy and methodology. Corrections go to the editorial inbox — we do not invent celebrity “expert” personas.

How we stay free

FeeFriction is supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are labeled and do not change calculator math. Details: Advertising disclosure.

Editor

FeeFriction Editorial — Consumer finance math desk (United States)

FeeFriction Editorial builds and maintains US consumer-finance calculators that make fees, APR total cost, payment schedules, and expense ratios explicit. We write worked examples with labeled assumptions so readers can reproduce the math with their own loan or account terms. Articles cite public primary sources where available and never pretend to be personalized advice. Corrections are welcome at editorial@feefriction.com — include the page URL and the figure you dispute.
